W14 Reflection

If you had one final lecture to share with a group of students on what you have learned from this course, what would you share? I think the most important lessons I have learned from this course have been to remember. Always remember your Father in Heaven and our Savior Jesus Christ. If we forget them and their eternal plan for us while working in, accomplishing, or obtaining anything in this life it will have been in vain. Without the help of the guidance given from above, it is likely that we will not succeed. Instead of separating our lives into separate sections like work and career, family, spiritual growth, etc, we will never feel balanced in life. If we instead involve Heavenly Father and his guiding spirit throughout all we do all the time, we will establish balance and pure joy. What would be your last bit of advice to someone wanting to begin the entrepreneur journey? Go for it! you won't learn more anywhere else from entrepreneurship than trying it and making an eff...

W13 A Journey of Gratitude

Gratitude is very important. I love how as members of the church we have been taught to give thanks to our Father in Heaven every time we pray. This instills a remembrance that not everything revolves around us and that there is something bigger and greater than us alone. I believe that recognizing our ungrateful moments may help us to have a more grateful mindset the next time we are faced with a similarly hard situation. Whenever I face an ungrateful mindset during a particular day, I am often found conversing with my Father in Heaven about the situation at the end of the day asking for forgiveness as well as continual strength to remember my numerous blessings I had received. ...

W12 What's a Business For?

Based on what you read in the first two pages (pages 3 and 4), why are virtue and integrity so vital to an economy? It is important that we have constant virtue and integrity in the economy so that there is balance. Obviously there are ups and downs as well as small moments of stability in the economy but if virtue and integrity is absent it will create an unhealthy economy. "Trust, too, is fragile. Like a piece of china, once cracked it is never quite the same." I like this quote from the review because it makes a valid point. Our society and communities inside of that society relies upon reliable sources for many reasons. If integrity is lacking from within the economy it creates cracks inside our piece of china or in other words the economy. According to Charles Handy, what is the “real justification” for the existence of businesses? "It is to make a profit so that the business can do something more or better." Businesses are fueled by innovation and elevating th...
